From the Director of Spiritual Formation

Welcome to the Northwest House of Theological Studies, an ecumenical community of faith, reflection and study. NHTS weaves together academic discipline and spiritual formation in a concentrated weekend delivery program. Our spiritual community forms around a common meal, prayer, sharing, worship and Eucharist as central elements of the total educational experience. Area clergy are invited regularly to work with students to lead worship and Eucharist for our Saturday morning chapels.

As you begin your journey deeper into theological education, NHTS provides support and guidance as you discern and discover God’s direction in your life. The NHTS spiritual formation program places a great deal of focus on spiritual disciplines, discernment, sacred listening, and the discovery and development of gifts. NHTS works closely with area judicatories and ministries to provide spiritual direction, personal retreats, ministry mentors, and various other opportunities for our students. I am available to talk with students every weekend that classes are in session and by appointment during the week.
