Spiritual Formation and Practice:
Class Weekends
Common Meal
Spiritual formation is a part of the weekly community schedule. Friday night begins with a Common Meal, followed by a time of reflection and prayer to aid students in centering their thoughts before starting classes. This allows for a time of transition from workweek to a theological weekend. A variety of spiritual exercises are utilized on Friday nights including Lectio Divina, Guided Prayer, Mediation of Texts, etc.
Saturday Worship
Every Saturday morning the community gathers for Chapel. Chapel combines the celebration of Eucharist, singing, prayer, and contemplation with other formation exercises. NHTS utilizes area pastors and past graduates to provide ecumenical leadership for both Eucharist and spiritual formation experiences.
